Great video showing how people perceive and recognize change in colours. This card trick takes a deck of cards with a blue patterned back. The cards are placed on the playing table face down. The assistant selects a single card and shows the audience the value. The card is placed back into the deck of cards and the cards are spread across the table a second time. This time the back of all of the cards are now red. Except for the one card that was selected by the assistant, it remains blue.

The trick isn’t all that complex, but something else unexpected happens… watch the following video carefully, see if you can figure it out before they provide an explanation at the end. Very well done trick!

Crows are smarter than I ever thought. I always thought they were just annoying birds that liked to attack you if you got too close to their nests in the spring time. This crow tries to get at a treat at the bottom of a short tube. Since it’s beak won’t fit it grabs a straight piece of wire and tries to fish it out. After trying a few times, the crow folds the wire to create a hook at the end and then is successful at pulling the treat out of the tube. What a smart crow!

Here’s a message specifically for the people using my family photo album, but it can also be useful for anyone wanting to upload photos to the web.

Most digital cameras today take photos at 5-10 Megapixels. This high resolution can result in large files ranging from 800KB - 5,000KB this is a large file to upload. The typical method I’ve seen people try to upload photos is:

1. Take the photo
2. Transfer to the computer
3. Upload to a website
4. wait… wait… wait…

Now imagine if you wanted to upload 10 photos, or 100 photos. You could be waiting for an hour for everything to upload. Or what usually happens is the file is too big and you get an error message.

So… what can you do?

Some more sick humour. This guy has setup a unique squirrel trap on his deck. Instead of capturing the squirrel in a box he builds a large slingshot to launch the squirrel into the neighbour’s yard.

Here’s the world’s worst criminal trying to break into a liquor store. Looks like he already has had too much liquor so I’m not sure what he was thinking. But it makes a funny video.
